THE COURSES/ THE METHOD
The Italian Language School has developed
specific proficiency levels from beginning
to advanced skills.
Each course develops skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
The Italian Language
School offers the following Courses:

| Group
Classes – Adult |
The Italian Language
School works by sessions. Each level
is taught in one session.
- Each session comprises a seven-week
course.
- Students meet once or twice a week for
two hours, mostly after working
hours (from 6:30 to 8:30 pm).
- Daytime classes can be planned,
if requests meet the required number
needed for a class.
Class size is limited to 10 students
to ensure each person has the opportunity
to interact with the group and the
teacher.
A minimum of 5 students per class
is required.
All groups are requested to start
with a “Beginners’ Level
n. 1” where they learn the basics.
After Level 1, the curriculum is
split into two different programs:
| Grammar
Classes (from Level
2 to 8) |
A step by step
program teaches all of the grammar.
Starting from level 3 students
do grammar and conversation
and classes are held mostly
in Italian.
The whole program takes about
18 months.

At the end of the program,
students are expected to use
the language, both written and
spoken, with structured accuracy. |

| Conversation
Classes (Intermediate–Advanced) |
Classes are
targeted to improve communication
skills.
Classes are held only in Italian.

are requested to prepare papers
and presentations.
At the end of the program,
students are expected to use
the language fluently and accurately
for most social and practical
everyday needs. |

| Tourist Classes - Adult |
- This course is targeted to provide travelers with the basics of the language and commication skills.
- The Tourist Course starts every first or second week of the month and goes for 1.5 hours twice a week for four weeks (12 hours).
- Classes are held at the Cultural Center from 6:00pm-7:30pm Monday and Wednesday.
- Minimun number of students required is 5.

| Children
Classes |
- Each session is a six week program,
once a week for 1.5 hours.
- Classes are held on Saturday morning.(10:30
to 12:00 am)
- The School accepts children from
3 to 12 years of age (children are
split according to age)
Textbooks: no requirements
Children are exposed to the language
with games and programs that are educational
and fun.

| Private
Classes |
The School provides
private (one student – one teacher)
and semi private (two students –
one teacher) tutoring classes according
to the needs and the schedule of the
students.
Lessons are usually held at the
Italian Language School but instruction
can be made available offsite upon
request.
At the start of the course the teacher
and the student discuss and agree
on the program and the number of hours
needed to reach the student’s
target.

| Corporate
Courses |
Corporate courses
are held at the Italian Language School
or at a Company’s site.
The School provides an initial assessment
to study the Company’s goal
and specific needs.
Special packages and total immersion
tutoring can also be provided.
